How to Use Hashtag Expert for More Likes and Followers on Instagram
Tell us about someone who doesn’t want to grow their Instagram audience. From social marketers to freelancers, small businesses, influencers, and individuals to big brands and organizations, everybody wants to increase followers on Instagram.
We’re sure you want this to happen too. After all, the more followers you get, the more opportunities for you. And that’s where hashtags come in.
As you undoubtedly know, a hashtag is a word or phrase preceded by a (#) symbol. The symbol, long referred to as a number sign or pound sign, is increasingly becoming known as a “hash sign.” Originally developed by the creators of Twitter, hashtags are now in use throughout social media, from Twitter to Instagram to Facebook to TikTok.
Instagram posts with hashtags can increase user engagement by 70% compared with those without hashtags.
So how do you which hashtags are right for you? Where do you even start? That’s an easy one … you simply turn the challenge over to Hashtag Expert.
Hashtag Expert is an Instagram hashtag app that finds the most relevant tags will make your content discoverable to the right audience and help you increase IG profile views and followers.
Our community members share success stories each day, like this one below.
And one more:
Let's discuss how to personalize the app and create highly relevant hashtags for Instagram marketing.
Using Hashtag Expert to Boost Instagram Post Likes and Profile Views
We will assume that you’ve already downloaded the app, and completed the account activation and basic setup. Hopefully, you’ve also explored Hashtag Expert’s app features because you’ll be using these functionalities and we don’t want you to miss anything.
Next, we recommend that you have your content ready to post, or at least have a plan. That way, you'll know exactly what to search for and get the most relevant suggestions.
Once you're done with all that, it's time to generate the hashtags for Instagram.
#Step 1: Add Your Facebook/Instagram Account
Although optional, we recommend that you link your Instagram or Facebook account with our app. Businesses and creators using Hashtag Expert app version 5.4.0 or later, can add their Facebook or Instagram accounts and enjoy more personalized hashtag suggestions.
You can add as many accounts as you want, and remove/deselect them later.
Once your accounts are linked, the hashtag app will fetch data from Instagram and Facebook, and give you more accurate and highly relevant suggestions.
If you don't have a creator account with Instagram, learn how to get started. If you're an e-commerce looking to sign up for Instagram shopping and sell through Instagram, check if you fulfill the Commerce Eligibility Requirements.
Will the app still work if you don’t link your Instagram account? Yes, Hashtag Expert will still give you hashtag suggestions and you can still explore the trending hashtags. But the app, in some occasions, might not working optimally.
#Step 2: Configure the App
Hashtag Expert uses the most advanced algorithms to give you the most accurate and close match hashtags. The best part is you can personalize the app and control how it behaves without spending to spend too much time.
If you're using app version 5.4.0 or higher, you'll notice that there are some new changes to the algorithm and configuration.
To open the configuration page, go to the Generate tab, and click the yellow button (earlier a purple button). Tap on that.
Now a new page with pop. Scroll down until you see Post Count Filter. Tap on that.
Now to enable this feature, drag the button to right. And enter the minimum and maximum number of followers. These numbers don't have to be exactly same, you can enter a rough estimate.
#Step 3: Choose from the Hashtag Groups
You can either research hashtags when you have free time and save the suggested groups for later use; or go with instant suggestions each time you post.
1. Generate Personalized Suggestions
In this section, we’ll show you how to start from scratch and generate hashtags using the Hashtag Expert app.
Open the app and stay on the home screen (i.e., the 'Generate' tab).
Now type the base hashtag in the search box. Your base hashtag can be about the content theme, your business, place, or mood.
Here’s an example:
Enter #art in the search box.
Now tap Generate Hashtags and wait for the app to search the library and get back to you with suggestions.
Scroll down to see more.
Did you notice some of the groups contain letters like A, B, C, D ...? These letters correspond to the ratings. Hashtag Expert constantly collects feedback from its community members, so those with an ‘A’ have the maximum post counts while an ‘E’ signifies that those groups have significantly lower post counts. But this doesn't mean you shouldn't use those hashtags that are 'D' or 'F'!
Sometimes, you’ll notice that certain hashtags are not assigned to any of these groups. That’s because they’re relatively new and don’t have enough data. As we’re always working on gathering more information, come back to check later.
If you’re not happy with the results, search again with other words or maybe check trending hashtags. There is no limit on daily searches.
Pro Tip: Hashtag suggestions change all the time. So you might not find the same hashtags if you search with the same hashtag again after a few minutes. If you like a hashtag group, be sure to bookmark or save it to collections.
2. Choose from Popular and Trending Hashtag Groups
Another way to find top-performing hashtags is to look for trending topics, which you can find on the 'Trending' tab. Here you'll find lots of hashtag groups that are trending, top, new, and recent for the given topics.
To fine-tune your hashtag suggestions, let's adjust the categories.
Click the yellow configuration button and go to 'Categories' and try a different category that also belongs to your field of interest/operation. You can also change the date and location. When you're done, tap save.
#Step 4: Edit Hashtags
If you want to remove or add hashtags, edit hashtags.
Suppose, for instance, you run a coffee shop. Naturally, many of your posts will be about #coffee, #coffeeshop and similar topics. So you wanted to check with the Hashtag Expert app for hashtag groups, found some great suggestions. But there’s one problem. You don’t like three of them – #fashion, #love, and #food. What do you do next?
Some groups may contain additional tags that are of no use to you.
In those cases, click Edit.
Next, tap to select the hashtags you want to remove, and then tap to delete.
Now go ahead and copy and paste, or save to 'Collections'.
The Do’s and Don'ts of Instagram Marketing
Remember, hashtags are there to amplify your content and page views. If your audience likes the content, they’re likely to engage. If you don’t get enough likes or followers even with hashtags, you should try to look at other elements like the visuals you share and content your write.
Approximately 95 million posts are shared daily on Instagram. Staying on top of algorithms and showing up in feeds and searches is now more difficult.
As you already have the right set of hashtags, you’ll be spending your time doing research and creating great content. Here’s a list that might come in handy:
3 Things You Can Do to Rule Instagram
For a winning Instagram marketing strategy , pay attention to these tips:
- Research Your Niche Audience: Every product or service has its own unique market demographic. Before writing posts, you may want to know a bit more about your ideal audience groups; it could be their location, age, marital status, gender, profession, interests. The more granular you can get, the more chances of conversion you’ll have.
- Consistency and Frequency: Create a social media calendar and mark the days you want to post on Instagram. Now follow that for a considerable duration. Without being consistent, you won’t be able to track performance, and as a result, you’ll have a poor understanding of what’s working and what isn’t.
- Engage with Your Audience: When your followers and audiences engage with you in the form of comments, responding to them is the least you can do. It is an acknowledgment that you care, and their voices are heard.
3 Mistakes You Should Avoid on Instagram
These mistakes are like landmines—avoid them at all costs:
- Poor Quality Visuals: If you’re serious about growing Instagram followers and engagement, stay away from posting photos that lack clarity and quality. Look at those profiles that garnered massive fan-following, and you’ll see that none of them publish low-quality photos or images.
- Insensitivity: There’s nothing more dangerous than attracting attention due to controversy and all the wrong reasons. No matter the size of your organization, your reputation can make or break your business. Before sharing funny posts, take a moment to be certain that your words are not hurtful to anyone and/or any group.
- You’re Not Experimenting Enough: Social media is for those who aren’t afraid to try new things. Sure, keeping an eye on your competitor and trying to get ideas from them might work well, but that won’t get you far.
Content Quality Comes First
The bottom line here is that those who connect with your brand are just as important as your business itself. You need customer loyalty, brand value, and retention to not just survive but thrive. So as much as hashtags are important so is your content. Your content should resonate with your customers, and that’s when you’ll achieve real success with Instagram marketing. Let us worry about the hashtags and you invest your time in creating content that people love.
